Managing Administrators

Within UNIWeb, administrator access can be assigned, modified, and removed by assigning roles to UNIWeb members. Depending on the level of access that they need, UNIWeb members may have multiple administrator roles assigned. If a UNIWeb member has at least one role assigned to them, they are considered an administrator.
When your institution sets up their network, the Proximify team will create your first administrator accounts. As an administrator, it is your responsibility to create and assign roles to future users.
Administrator access in UNIWeb is granted through assigning administrator roles. If there are no existing administrator roles that include the permissions that you would like to grant, you can first create a new role or edit an existing role to fit.
Before you begin: this procedure requires an administrator role within the subject’s academic unit that includes the following permissions:
Assign roles to members
If you have not been assigned a role with the permissions listed above, and believe that you should be able to perform this task within your academic unit, please contact your system administrator.
From your UNIWeb Administration page, go to Access Control.
In the centre panel, click the Add member button to the right of the Administrators heading.
In the New member dialog, browse or search in the New member dropdown menu for the UNIWeb member to whom you would like to assign an administrator role, and click on their name.
Click the checkbox next to the role(s) that you would like to assign to the selected UNIWeb member.
Click Save.
You can modify the level of access that a UNIWeb administrator has been granted by adding or removing roles from their administrator profile.

Tip: you can also modify a UNIWeb administrator’s level of access by editing a role that has been assigned to them. This will affect any other members that have been assigned the same role.
You can revoke a UNIWeb member’s administrator access by removing all of the roles from their administrator profile. This will only remove their administrative permissions. This will not remove the user from UNIWeb and their CV data and profile will remain untouched.
